The blue gemstone, sapphire, is symbolic of a royal, noble and sincere characteristic. It conquers a significant role in numerous histories and religions, with its name originating from the Greek word “sappheiros”. Out of the four most precious gemstones in this world, the sapphire takes the place as one of them.
Sapphires consist of the same basic elements as the ruby, which are the elements aluminium and oxygen. Similarly, they are categorised into the same family, known as corundum. However, unlike rubies, the elements that give sapphires their signature deep blue glow are titanium and iron. Although they are more commonly found than rubies, they are still considered as a highly rare artifact. Their mysterious, pulsing aura leaves every witness in awe.
